Fall 2015. I was the lead designer for team Nova as they wanted to continue their existing project, Crystallite, from the year before. Nova had built a custom engine using Lua, and the level editor was amazing to use!
My responsibilities included keeping the design team (three others) on task while also communicating content and system mechanics needs to the programmers. While we were able to improve level flow and added classes for each character, we still faced technical difficulties. I felt very strongly about adding different heights that the players could interact with and it would provide more strategy to combat, but it was out of the scope for our physics and graphics developers.
Since this team consisted of seniors, about half of us found internships during Spring semester and the project was discontinued. The original Crystallite is still available on DigiPen's Game Gallery!
